Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

Age: 26

Charges: Driving While Criminally Suspended, Attempting to Elude, Unlawful Trespass, Violation of Conditions of Release x2

Description:

On December 28th, 2017 a Deputy from the Windham County Sheriff's Office conducted a motor vehicle stop on Bellows Falls Road in Putney for a equipment violation. The operator, later identified as Jacob McAllister, 26, of Westminster, ran from the vehicle. Deputies, Troopers, and Officers from the Bellows Falls Police Department including K9 Caesar tracked McAllister for approximately 1.5 miles through snow covered, wooded terrain.

McAllister was ultimately located in the garage of a local resident. He was taken into custody by the Sheriff's Office and transported to the Westminster State Police Barracks for processing. The vehicle McAllister was driving was also seized pending a search warrant.

While at the barracks McAllister was additionally charged by the Vermont State Police on numerous other charges from a previous incident.

The Windham County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Vermont State Police and the Bellows Falls Police Department for their assistance in this incident.
