Regional Communications Division

The Windham County Regional Emergency Communications Center operates a modern facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and provides both emergency and business related call-taking for the following areas:

- Windham County Sheriff's Office

- Bennington County Sheriff's Office

- Bellows Falls Police Department

Often serving as the public's first point of contact, the dispatchers operate the emergency and non-emergency phone lines, law enforcement radio communications through several frequencies, and various computer programs such as Computer Aided Dispatch, Openfox NCIC, Vermont E-911 mapping, among other sites to aid during incidents.

Dispatchers also perform daily checks with the elderly through the "Are You Ok?" program, in which throughout the morning, phone calls are placed to ensure the individuals are safe and in the event there is no answer, dispatchers follow protocols to get resources to check on them.
