Description:On January 26,2023 at approximately 1546 hours, a deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle on Sand Hill Rd. The operator, Stephen D. Goose was found to be impaired by alcohol rendering him unsafe to operate a motor vehicle. Goose was processed and released on a criminal citation for a later date. He was charged with DUI #2.

Description: On January 14th, 2023, at approximately 1940 hours, deputies from the Windham County Sheriff's Office learned that a Arthur D. Madore Jr was at a residence on South Pine Banks Road. Putney, VT. Madore had an active Arrest Warrant and was subsequently arrested at the residence. He was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department and processed. Madore was then transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Description: On December 30th, 2022, at approximately 0054 hours, a deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office assigned to a highway safety detail, stopped a vehicle on Center St. in Bellows Falls, VT. The vehicle was operated by Benjamin E. Worth, of Westminster, VT. Worth showed signs of impairment and was subsequently screened for alcohol and or drug impairment. He was arrested soon after. After being processed, Worth was issued a civil violation for operating after suspension and a criminal citation for DUI. He was released on citation to appear at a later date. A passenger was issued a civil violation complaint for open container of alcohol. Officers from the Bellows Falls Police Department assisted in this investigation.

Stockman was at a residence on Saxtons River Rd. in Rockingham, VT. Stockman had an active arrest warrant and was subsequently arrested at the residence. He was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department and processed. Stockman was then transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Description: On December 31st, 2022 at approximately 2118 hours, a Deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office working a DUI Saturation Patrol in Dover, observed a vehicle traveling south on VT Route 100 at 48 mph in a 35 mph. After further investigation, Christopher Miller was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol. After arrest and processing, Christopher was released on a criminal citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date. Dover Police assisted in this investigation.

Description: On 12/1/22 Tilford Tillman was arrested by the Windham County Sheriff's Office following an investigation on Whitetail Drive in Vernon.
While Corporal Gallup and Sgt. Wilbur were attempting to serve a court order at a residence at Whiltetail Drive in Vernon, they learned that a majority of the windows in the residence had been broken just prior to their arrival. Deputies also learned that on the evening of 11/29/22 an assault had occurred between Tillman and his partner.
During the investigation, Tillman became belligerent with one of the Deputies and grabbed his body worn camera, removing it from his person. Tillman then threw the camera, hitting the Deputy in the face. Following the investigation, Tillman was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Center for lack of $2000.00 bail on the above charges.

Description: On 12/7/22 at approximately 1708 hours, Alex Gero was arrested by the Windham County Sheriff's Office after his vehicle was observed to be traveling at 58 mph in the posted 30 mph speed zone. During the stop it was discovered that he was operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device installed which is required per his license restrictions. Alex was released on a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date and the vehicle was removed by a licensed operator.

DUI CHECKPOINT
During the Month of December,2022 the Windham County Highway Safety Task Force will be conducting sobriety checkpoints within Windham County. An aggressive effort will be made to identify impaired drivers on our highways during the holiday season. Officers will be also enforcing seatbelt, child restraint and other motor vehicle laws during this checkpoint.

Charges: DUI #2, Excessive Speed, Gross Negligent Operation
Description: On December 1st, 2022, at approximately 1635 hours, an off-duty Windham County Deputy called into the Windham County Sheriff's Office reporting a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and driving erratically on Interstate 91 north bound near Exit 3 in the Town of Brattleboro, VT.
Shortly after, other Windham County Deputies observed the same vehicle traveling north on Interstate 91 near Exit 4 in the Town of Putney at a high rate of speed. One of the deputies observed the vehicle to be traveling at over 120 mph. This deputy was able to catch up to the vehicle near Exit 5 in the Town of Westminster, VT. The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Micah McTaggart, showed signs of impairment. He was screened and subsequently arrested for DUI #2, Excessive Speed, and Gross Negligent Operation. He was processed at the Bellows Falls Police Department and released on a citation to appear at a later date.

Description: The Windham County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary that occurred between the late hours of 12/5/22 and early morning hours of 12/6/22 at the Green Mountain Orchard in Putney. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the business and damage was done to the building.
