Description: On June 19,2024 at 1559 hours a deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office working in the town of Jamaica responded to a two car motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival the deputy observed signs of impairment from the operator identified as Ethan Grimes. D.O.B. 6/7/1981.

Subsequent investigation revealed Grimes had been operating under the influence of alcohol. Grimes was taken into custody and was taken to Winhall PD for processing. Grimes was released on a citation to appear in court.

Bomb threat at Landmark College

Description: On July 11th, 2024, at approximately 11:02 hours, the Windham County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported bomb threat at Landmark College in Putney, Vermont.

School facilities were searched by school and law enforcement officials. No credible threat or devices were found. Any one with information is asked to contact LT Joel Howard at 802-365-4942.

Theft of Welding Equipment

Description: On 06/11/2024, at approximately 0900 hours, the Windham County Sheriff's Office was notified of the theft of a red and black Lincoln Electric "Ranger" 225 Engine Driven Welder. The welder, along with approximately 200 feet of cable, were stolen from the I-91 construction site on the Rt. 121 bridge in the Town of Westminster. Anyone with information on this event should contact the Windham County Sheriff's Office. Investigation into this event remains ongoing.

Violation of Conditions of Release - Brattleboro

Description: On April 27th, 2024 at approximately 2110 hours a Deputy assigned to a grant funded Governor's Highway Safety funded highway safety detail arrested Steven R. Holway, 30, of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, for violation of conditions of release.

Holway's vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Wilsons Woods Rd in the Town of Brattleboro. After a brief investigation it was discovered that Holway was in violation of his court ordered conditions of release.

Holway was arrested and transported to the sheriff's office were he was processed and issued a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court - Windham Criminal Division.

Description: On April 20th, 2024, at approximately 2225 hours, a Deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office arrested Mark E. Kriskov, age 62, of Brattleboro, Vermont, for DLS.

Kriskov was arrested and transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office for processing. At the completion of processing he was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court - Windham Criminal Division.

Description: On 04/29/2024 at approximately 1547 hours, a Juvenile was arrested by the Windham County Sheriff's Office after the vehicle he was operating was observed to be traveling 67 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone. The Juvenile was released to his father from the scene on a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Family Division at a later date.The Juvenile was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.

During the stop it was discovered that David's privilege to drive in the State was suspended criminally. He was brought back to the Windham County Sheriff's Office where he was processed and released on a citation to appear into the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

Description: On May 11th, 2024, at approximately 2250 hours, the Windham County Sheriff's Office arrested Cosmus M. Musyoka for 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault. This arrest is a result of an investigation initiated by Windham County Sheriff's Deputies after receiving a call at approximately 2004 hours. It was reported that Musyoka had assaulted a family/household member causing serious bodily injury as defined by statute, at an address on Westminster Heights Rd. in the Town of Westminster. Musyoka was processed and ordered held on $10,000 cash or surety bond. He was further issued a criminal citation to appear in court on 5/13/24. Musyoka was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Description: On April 24th, 2024, the Windham County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of trespass, after hours, at a local business on Main St. in Putney, VT. A male reportedly entered the barbed wired fenced in area of the business by scaling the fence and entering various vehicles in the lot the night prior.

Investigation developed probable cause to charge Bryan Wainwright with Unlawful Trespass. Wainwright also violated his conditions of release in the process. On 4/29/24, Wainwright was located at the Vermont Superior Court-Windham Unit and arrested by deputies. Wainwright was issued a criminal citation to appear at a later date.
