Probation Violation Arrest- Westminster

Description:

On September 29th, 2023 Deputies with the Windham County Sheriff's Office received reports that a male was intoxicated and had violated his Probation conditions. While En route Deputies also learned that the reporting party had locked Ward outside of the residence and he was not leaving the property.

Deputies arrived on scene and worked alongside officer's from the Vermont Probation and Parole office. It was determined Ward had violated his Probation and was taken into custody by deputies on scene.

Ward was transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office where custody was then transferred to Probation Officer's and taken to Southern State Correctional Facility.

DUI Drug Crash Arrest- Vernon

2) Negligent Operation of a motor vehicle

Description:

On the aforementioned date and time deputies with the Windham County Sheriff's Office received reports of a single vehicle motor vehicle crash on Route 142 in the town of Vernon VT. Deputies arrived on scene and located the operator who was identified by his Vermont Driver license as Alexander C Freeman age 40. Over the course of the investigation deputies observed possibly signs of impairment from Freeman. A DUI investigation was initiated and found that freeman was unsafe to operate a motor vehicle.

Freeman was taken into custody and transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office. Deputies on scene requested a Drug Recognition Export to further evaluate Freeman. Freeman was Processed and released to a sober adult and issued a criminal Citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date. Freeman was issued a Vermont Civil violation for operating a motor vehicle without Liability insurance.

Windham County Sheriff's Office were assisted by the Wilmington Police Department, Vernon Fire Department, Rescue Inc, and Bulldog Towing.

Putney: Arrest for Negligent Operation and Excessive Speed

Description: On 09/27/23 at approximately 1620 hours, Apoorv Krishna was arrested by the Windham County Sheriff's Office after the vehicle he was operating was observed traveling 102 mph in the posted 65 mph speed zone on I 91 in Putney. Apoorv was released from the scene on a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date. He was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.

Jacobs was subsequently arrested and issued a Criminal citation for Simple assault. Jacobs was then released at his residence.

1) Driving Under the Influence (Alcohol)

Description:

On September 23rd, 2023, a deputy working for the Windham County Sheriff's Office patrol division was working on a Governor's Highway Safety Program DUI detail in the town of Westminster. Around 23:50 hours the deputy observed a motor vehicle driving erratically traveling south on U.S Route 5 in Westminster by the Bellows Falls Union High School.

A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle under suspicion of DUI. Upon initial contact with the operator who was identified as Daniel L Richardson Age 66 of Brattleboro Vt., signs of impairment were observed and an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Richardson's breath. Richardson was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. Richardson was transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office where he was processed.

Richardson was issued a criminal citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on October 3, 2023, at 0830 hours to answer the above charges. Richardson was released to a sober adult at the Sheriff's Office

Description:

On September 16th,2023 a deputy working for the Windham County Sheriff's Office patrol division was working on a Governor's Highway Safety Program DUI detail in the town of Westminster. The deputy observed a vehicle traveling north on U.S route 5 in the area of Allen Brothers that appeared to be driving erratically. The Deputy began following the vehicle and observed more signs of impairment.

A traffic stop was initiated and identified the operator as Nicholas J Palermo. During the investigation more signs of impairment were observed from the operator. The operator subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office in Brattleboro to be processed.

Palermo was issued a criminal citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division, on October 3, 2023, at 0830 hours to answer the above charges. Palermo was given a courtesy ride back to his residence and released to a sober adult.

On September 16th,2023 a deputy working for the Windham County Sheriff's Office patrol division was working on a Governor's Highway Safety Program detail in the town of Rockingham. The deputy observed a vehicle travelling at a speed greater than the posted speed limit and initiated a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Orion K. Pfenning was operating a motor vehicle while criminally suspended.

Pfenning was taken into custody and transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing. During the course of processing deputies learned that Pfenning also violated his conditions of release. Pfenning was ultimately cited for both offences to appear at the Windham Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date.

Dix was taken into custody and transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office for processing. Dix was released on a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court criminal division at a later date.
