Description: On the aforementioned date and time a Deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office assigned to patrol in the towns of Putney and Westminster, conducted a motor vehicle stop on US Route 5 in Westminster.

Subsequent investigation revealed the passenger identified as Lynn R. Ferguson, to have an active in state warrant. It was also revealed that the second passenger identified as Edmond French, was in possession of suspected Crack Cocaine.

While in custody, Ferguson admitted to having a glass pipe containing suspected Crack Cocaine concealed on her person which was also a violation of her conditions of release.

Both suspects were brought to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing.

French was released with a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court at a later date.
Ferguson was cited to appear in Windham Superior Court at a later date, and transported to Southern State Correctional Facility where she was held in leu of $5000.00 bail.

Two-vehicle crash involving cruiser

Location: Route 5, Westminster VT

Description: A Windham County Sheriff’s cruiser was involved in a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash on November 1, 2025 at the intersection of Route 5 and Access Road in Westminster. Deputy Thomas Raymond was traveling south on Route 5 attempting to stop a motor vehicle for speeding. The other involved vehicle was traveling north on Route 5 turning onto Access Road when the collision occurred. Deputy Raymond was transported by Golden Cross Ambulance to Springfield for minor injuries and released. The State Police are investigating the crash.

The Westminster Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, Golden Cross Ambulance, the State Police, and J&M Auto responded to the scene.

DUI Arrest-Putney

Description: On October 24th, 2025, at approximately 9:52 pm, Deputies with the Windham County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on US Rt 5 in the Town of Dummerston after observing erratic operation on Putney Landing Rd. in the Town of Putney. Deputies observed several clues of alcohol impairment from the operator, Gavin Sales, of Keene, NH. After an investigation, Sales was arrested for DUI, processed at the Bellows Falls Police Department, and released on a criminal citation to appear at a later date.

Excessive Speed in Brattleboro

Description: On 10/27/25 at approximately 1205 hours, Keira M. Hodum was stopped by the Windham County Sheriff's Office after the vehicle she was operating was observed to be traveling 99 mph in the legally posted 65 mph zone on I-91 in Brattleboro. Keira was released from the scene on a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date. She was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.

Multiple Charges - Newfane

2) Arrest on Instate Warrant

Description: On the aforementioned date a deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office observed a red GMC Sierra with multiple motor vehicle violations traveling south on Route 30 in Newfane.

A traffic stop was conducted near the Dummerston/Newfane town line and the operator was subsequently identified as Benjamin Stone of Brattleboro, Vermont. The deputy further learned that Stone's privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Vermont was criminally suspended. Stone was placed under arrest and transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office to be processed.

The deputy also learned that Stone had a active cite and release warrant in the state of Vermont for a separate misdemeanor charge. Stone was issued citations for both charges and released.

1. On October 15th, 2025 at approximately 1441 hours a deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on Bellows Falls Road near South Pine Banks Road.

A subsequent investigation revealed a passenger located the in the vehicle and identified as Cameron Johnson age 28 was in violation of his court ordered conditions of release. Johnson was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Sheriff's Office to be processed. At the conclusion of processing Johnson was released on a citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court - Criminal Division - Windham Unit at a later date.
