Description: On 01/12/25 at approximately 1920 hours, Dylan Greenwood was arrested after the vehicle he was operating was observed to be passing another vehicle and traveling 82 mph in the posted 50 mph speed zone on Rockingham Rd in Rockingham. Dylan was released from the scene on a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date. He was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.

Description: On 01/05/25 at approximately 1715 hours, VT State Police broadcasted a BOL about a white Jeep traveling south on VT Route 30 from Jamaica. It was reported that the vehicle was not able to maintain its lane. The vehicle was located in Harmonyville and almost struck the Sheriff's patrol vehicle as it passed by in the opposite direction. The vehicle was stopped near the River Bend Motel on VT Route 30. The operator, Alison C. Freleng, was arrested after signs of impairment were observed. A minor child was a passenger in the vehicle at the time, improperly riding in the front passenger seat. After processing, Alison was released to a responsible adult on a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

Girs was Arrested and transported to the Windham Criminal Court to appear for her warrant. Girs was additionally issued a Criminal Citation and ordered to appear at a later date for Criminal DLS.

Cruiser rollover

Description: On December 28th, 2024 at approximately 0425 hours, a deputy driving a 2019 Ford Interceptor SUV slide off Route 30 near Stephenson Curve in Townshend, striking a phone pole, descending a steep embankment where the vehicle rolled over. Black ice is a preliminary cause. Deputy Thomas Bessette was transported by Rescue Inc to Grace Cottage Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

The Vermont State Police are investigating the crash. Townshend Fire, Rescue Inc, Green Mountain Power, and Scott Brooks Towing responded to the scene.

Description: On December 7, 2024, at approximately 2345 hours, the Windham County Sheriff's Office observed a vehicle traveling north on US Route 5 in Dummerston that had defective rear lights. The vehicle was subsequently stopped in a parking lot on Main Street in Putney.

Christian Griffin of Putney was arrested for DUI.

Griffin was processed at the Bellows Falls Police Department and released on a criminal citation to a sober adult. Officers with the Bellows Falls Police Department assisted in this investigation.
